The holes in the soleplate are many and shaped, the disadvantage is that they are far from the edges, i.e. they are more concentrated in the center. Ceramic is really easy to clean, things don't stick to it. The weight of the iron is important not only in terms of how heavy it is to hold, but also in terms of the quality of ironing. An iron should not be very light because its weight also puts pressure on the clothes. It's not for nothing that the old cast iron irons smoothed things with gusto.

I have a PHILIPS iron for over 3 years. I chose between 1 and 2 thousand rubles. I never buy expensive equipment. And not once have I regretted it. It is a quality iron. The soleplate is aluminum. I have been using a Tefal iron for almost 10 years. For a long time I got used to it. But you get used to good things and don't look for replacements. I only iron my own suits and shirts myself. So the process is familiar. Steam generator, Teflon. It's all convenient and good. The downside is that every three to four months you have to clean the limescale. Tried chemicals. Not effective.
